NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. WELLINGTON WIN SHIELD. . By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 26. The New Zealand Athletic Championship meeting was held to-day, in torrents of rain. The officials decided to hold the meeting because of the southern competitors havingAo leave Auckland by to-morrow evening's express, the track was in consequence heavy, and generally the times were slow. D. Wilsor, of Auckland, broke tVo New Zealand record of 21min 37sec in the three mile walk, reducing it to 20 min 58 4-ssec. There was a great deal of discussion regarding the fair- j ness of his walking with the assistance of a fairly strong breeze. Woodger ran 220 yds in 21 3-ssec, equal to an Australian record, the time is not likely to be accepted in either case.
