THE LATE BISHOP LENIHAN.

Permission Has been granted b,v the Minister for Internal Affairs for the interment of the remains of Bishop Lenihan in St. Patrick's Cathedral. An extraordinary prophecy,. indicating a premonition of his early death, was made by the late bishop at the Retreat held on 24tb January. He said: "It is joy to me to have my 36 priests around me. This will probaoly be the last Retreat I shall be among you, as I fell I shall not be here next year." The funeral is to take place oh Fri • day. On arrival in Auckland early this morning the body was embalmed, and was then to toe taken to the bishop's palace.
