(Own Correspondent.) Wednesday.

The death occurred iast evening of 'Mrs Annie Clarkson, after a short iillness. Deceased, who was well advanced in years, was an old resident of this town, and was twice married, 'herjjfirst husband being a. Mr Offsoski She leaves a grown-up family by the first marriage. The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon at the Clareville Cemetery. Mr and Mrs W. Moore are at present on a visit to Dunediif, where Mr Moore is representing St. Mark's 'Lodge at a Masonic gathering. The Wairarapa Bacon Factory is sending regular shipments of its products to the Home and Sydney inariket j . Last week 180 pigs were faannled.

IRathhone and stealing stamps to the •value of '3a 3d, accused were committed for trial at the Masterton Supreme Court, The same accused were also committed for trial on a charge of breaking into the Carterton Railway Station, and another charge against one of them for having skeleton keys in his possession was also sent to the Supreme Court for hearing. Messrs A. Armstrong and J. Baillie were the presiding J.'sP.

Mr Douglas, of the firm o" James Osborne and Sons, Glasgow, was a visitor to the town tc-day on business connected with his firm.

Mrs Elliott, wife of the local Methodist Minister, yesterday underwent a somewhat serious operation, <whicb was performed by Drs. Johnston and Bey.
