SUICIDE.

Percy Parish, a single man, agec" about 28 years, and a labourer employed at the Newtown carsheds, blew his brains out with a Winchester rifle after tea this evening. He had been suffering from melancholia for which he had been medically treated. The deceased, whose parents reside at East Oxford, North Canterbury, had been in the service of the corporation at the carsheds about four years. Last November he went home on sick leave, returning early this week to resume work. It was observed that he was very melancholy, and Mr Arthur Crombie, with whom Parish stayed, obtained medical advice for him.
