nited Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received February 17, 8.5 a.m. TANGIER, February 17 The Sultan of Massalot, by means of an ambush, inflicted heavy loss on a French detachment at Abeshr, in tha Wadai State, Sahara.

TANGIER, February 17.
Details from Abeshr show that 110 native soldiers and Europeans, a captain, two lieutenants, and two sergeants were massacred. Eight natives escaped.
