WELLINGTON WOOL SALE.
GOOD AND BETTEK PRICES MAINTAINED.

The fourth wool sale of the season was held yesterday and continued last night. The sale was very successful, and prices obtained compare favourably, and in sou e caaas were better than those ruling at the January sale. Generally spaaking. however, and having regard to the quality, prices were just about level wiili those of last month The catalogue totalled 16,536 bales, nearly all of which was sold. There was a representative attendance of English, Foreign and local buyers, and bidding was brisk throughout. The bulk of the wools offering were of coarser crossbred types, which sold in the neighbourhood of 9d per lb. A feature of the sale was the manner in which lamb's wool was competed for. A good deal of this class was offered, an as much as 13d was obtained, the average being 12d to 12£<3. Lamb's wool was all eagerly sought for, some buyers having practically no limits for it. Indee j, there was not one negleted line in the whole catalogue. In one or two instances growers' ideas of value did not coincide with those of buyers, one line of crossbreds being passed in at 13£ d. Prices averaged as follow : good lOd tolOJd, median} 9Jd to 9d, inferior B£d to B|d; halfbrec. good lljd to 13Jd, medium lOd to 10|d, inferior 9d to 9|rt; fine crossbreds, good lUjd to lOfd, medium 9Jd to lOd, inferior 9d to 9Jd; medium and coarse Crossbred, good 9Jd to lOd, medium 9d to 9&d, inferior 8&d to Bgd; pie:es, good 7d to IOJd, medium s£d to 6d, inferior 4£d to 4|d, locks 3d to 4£d; lambs, good to superior 11 Jd to 13d, medium lOd to lid, inferior and seedy 6£d to BJd.
