THE BUILDING GRANT. A PROTESTING BOARD. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 16. At a meeting of the Educatiun Board, this morning, it was resolved that the Board regret that the Minister for Education should have deemsd it necessary to reduce the ordinary building grant by so large an amount without a prior intimation and after the Boards had entered upon obligations, relying upon them maintenance of principle laid down by the Education Committee in 1903, and adopted by the Minister and until now acted upon. The Board regret, also, that the Minster does not fully appreciate the absolute necessity for Boards beinr assured finance in order In c they may properly discharge their functions and avoid recurring financial embarrassments. T ,,ri Board would be glad to receive i assurance that the building grant be reinstated without delay upon the lines laid down by Educational Committees.
