VARIOUS RESOLUTIONS.

LONDON, February 13. The Labour Conference at Newport has closed. Among many briefly-discussed motions, the following were carried:—
That any child certified to be badly nourished should he compelled to attend the school meals.
That such children should also be fed during th holidays. That it be obligatory on local education authorities to provide schools with efficient baths. Resolutions were also carried in favour of the nationalisation of railways and waterways, and against forms of militarism. The conference voted Labour M.P.'s £6OO for the 1908 session, and £3O each member for the autumn of 1909. Ordinary Parliamentary maintenance cost £6,123. The year's subscriptions to the Parliamentary fund totalled £13,826, and the balance in hand is £14,755.
