DANNEVIRKE SHOW.
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. By Telegraph—Press Association. DANNEVIKKE, February 11. The first show of the newly-formed Dannevirke District A. and P. Association was held to day, and attracted a large attendance of about five thousand. The Public Domain proved an ideal ground, and for the first attempt the arrangements were quite satisfactory. The weather was exceedingly hot. The competitions filled remarkably well, and provided a good afternoon's sport. Some of the results are:—Championships: Ayrshire cow, C. Wodley, Palmerston North; Jersey "cow and bull, W. H. Booth, Carterton; Holsteins, bull N. Nikolaison, Ormond- ) ville; Eomneys, ram W. H. Buick, Masterton; Lincolns, ram D. McDonald, Waitahora, ewe H. Gaisford, Oringi; Border Leicester, ram H. B. Blythe, Waitahora; Southdown, ram. A. B. Knight, Dannevirke; Maiden hunters' competition, Mrs Redpath's I "Bill"; best lady driver, Miss Mason; pony jumping, Mnriaon's "Wee McGregor'*; ladies' hunter, C* Hart's "Playboy" (Miss Mackersey); hunters'competition (open), H. Has- . sell and Troutbeck's "Fifi;" best weight-carrying hack, J, S. Nelson's "Dick"; high-weight hack, H. M. Campbell's "Whaiapo.'"
