LISTER SHEARING MACHINE.

An exhibit at the Masterton Agricultural Show, next week, which is sure to attract considerable attention is the Lister sheep shearing machine, which is being shown working in connection with Messrs Levin and Co.'s. patent skew belt driven overhead gear. The Lister shear is madj on practically the .same lines as the Wolseley by Messrs R. A Lister and Co., Ltd., Dursley, England, and it contains several improvements which have been suggested to the manufacturers by Mr A. G. Hutchhson, who has been connected with Levin and Co.'s shearing machine department for the last twenty years, and with the late P. Y. Wolseley for some years previously. The fact that Messrs Levin and Co. have relinquished another large agency after twenty years' experience in the shearing machine market in order to take up the agency for the Lister machine, and that the Lister is practically made to their order, should influence intending purchasers of shearing machine plants very considerably. Messrs Levin and Co. are I able to offcrjthe Lister overhead gear and also their own patent skew belt driven overhead gear, which is extremely simple, and can be erected practically without expert knowledge A visit to the Showground will enable those interested in shearing machinery to see the Lister gear driven by this new skew belt drive. Ic is interesting to note that Messrs Levin and Co. are prepared to guarantee the Lister gear and their own skew belt overhead gear to give absolute satisfaction. In a conversation with our reporter, Mr Hutchinson remarked: "I am out to sell a shearing machine plant that I know will give entire satisfaction, and my firm are going to make it their business to see that all purchasers are thoroughly pleased." a ' j
