Owing to the fiuods there are fortyeight thousand persona unemployed in Paris. The good conduct of the Post Office employees throughout the inundations has led to the reinstatement of the postmen who were dismissed owing to the strikes in May last year. THOUSANDS FED AND LODGED DAILY. Received February 7, 8.30 a.m. S PARIS, February 6. Contributions from France and abroad in aid of the food victims now amount to £300,000. The authorities are feeding and clothing and lodging thousands of persons daily. 'lhe Mikado of Japan sent £BOO to the Relief Fund. OTTAWA, February 6. The Canadian House of Commons unanimously voted £IO,OOO for the relief of sufferers by the Paris floods.
