THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

Tha usual change of programme waa presented at the Foreuters' Hall, last night, to a crowded house. The new collection is well worthy of the kudos bestowed on it in places where it has been produced previously. Animal has reached such perfection that in consul the Great we have what is next to human intelligence. This clever animal does everything but talk, he goes through an ordinary seaman's work during hia viyage across the Atlantic Ocean, and affords the greatest amusement to all the passengers. He is seen skating, cycling and dining, in fact doing all a human being can do except'speak. "The Girl Detective" is one of the exciting class so dear to Masterton audiences, and the child who so cleverly sives her father from being imprisoned won the heart 3 of all present. "Gaul's Hero" is a natural color film, and deals with a past of ancient Roman history. The balance of this fine programme consist of some tine scenic subjects, especially that of "Italy's Waterfalls and Glacier. The comic element is in abundance, and shrieks of laughter could be heard at"Mr Durant's Hunt for Amusement,' "The Elopement," and the huge screamer "A Drinkers' Competition."
