Bishop Av-riil, of Waiapu, will visit Wuodvilie to-day.

It is stated that Mr Corliss, the new Commissioner of Stamps, is a relative of the Hon. J. G. Findlay.

Mr J. F. M. Fraser, for nnnv years Crown Prosecutor at Dunedm, has been appointed one of the King's Counsel.

It is understood that Mr W. Redmond, at one time a publican in Mastertou, is about to take over one of the leading hotels in Carterton.

Messrs A. E. Relf and J. H. Board, cricket coaches at Auckland and Napier, respectively, will leave for London by the Arawa on February 24th.

Mr W. R. Haselden, S.M.,,who has relieving at Auckland for some time past, will take up his duties at Wellington early next week.

Mr W. Hirst, of Hawera, who was one of the trustees in the Lucena estate, near Masterton, leaves Wellington to-day on an extended tour of China and Japan.

Mr Anthony Wilding, the wellknown international tennis player, leaves Christchurch to-day by the s.s. Ulimaroa, via the Bluff, for Melbourne, where he joins the Geelong. He goes first to South Africa to play in a tennis tournament at Johannesburg, and then op to England to campete in the championship at Wimbledon. '
