WEDDING.

•COOM-BENNETT,

At S. Matthew's Church, yester day afternoon, a wedding was celebrated, in which a large amount of interest was taken, the contracting parties being Mr Harry Floyd Coom, only son of Mr John Coom, of Welington, and Miss Beatrice Hannah, fourth daughter of the late Joseph Bennett, of Otahoua. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr C. J. Bennett, was attired in a cream satin charmeuse robe, made Directoire style, with pearl trim mings and wore the usual veil and orange blossoms. She carried a handsome shower bouquet of roses, which had been presented to her by the bridegroom. Misses Wilmot, Dorothy and Nora Bennett (sisters of the bride), Miss Emily Mace (niece of the bride), and Miss Jess Baird, were bridesmaids, each of whom was dressed in white crepe de chene, trimmed with Irish point lace, and wore blue bats trimmed with velvet ribbon and blue sweet peas to match. Each carried a bouquet of sweet peae. Mr Tom Wilson, of Makuri, was best man, and Mr McK. Clark, of Wellngton, groomsman. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. Watson. The bridegroom presented the a gold necklet and pendant, and the bridesmaids with gold rngs and brooches. A reception was subsequently held at the bride's home "Otahoua,'* at which there was a large gathering of relations and friends. Mr and Mrs Coom left by motor car for Palmerston en route to Auckland, and Rotorua, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's travelling dress was a green striped tailor-made tweed costume with hat to match.
