LORD KITCHENER'S VISIT.
THE AUCKLAND CAMP.
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCLAND, January 27.
In with Lord Kitchener's visit, arrangements are proceeding for the mobilisation of the volunteer forces on Ist March. It is likely that the encampment will be held somewhere about Manurewa or Papakura, although no site has yet been definitely settled. A suggestion has been put forward that the Domain would be the best point for centralisation, and that the Field-Marshal could'just as easily put the forces through field operations from there as anywhere else. Colonel Wolfe will make a final inspection of the different sites proposed, but it is understood that Papakura or Manurewa will be given preference. Of the 4.600 troops comprising the Auckland forces, it is hoped that about 3,000 will go into camp.
