SHIPPING DISASTER.
A BARQUE WRECKED AND BURNED. By Telegraph—'Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 26. Two officers and the crew of the Norwegian barque Amicus arrived to-day, and report that she struck a reef in Hopaii Harbour. The barque was loaded with copra, and was bound for Hamburg. A gang was employed unloading her, when she caught fire, presumably from an explosion among the cargo in the hull. She was completely gutted. One of the crew, Peder Ha lversen, disappeared on the voyage.
