The floods have caused the closing of the Renault motor-car works at Billancourt, a suburb to the southwest of Paris. Two thousand five hundred employees have been thrown out of work.
PROTECTIVE WORKS STAND.

Reports from townships along the banks of the Namoi state that the river is falling. TCJRKISH PARLIAMENT. PALACE PRESENTED BY A PRINCESS. Received January 26, 9.55 a.m. CONSTANTINOPLE, January 25. The Princess Nazimeh, daughter of the deposed Sultan, Abdul Hamid, offered her palace for a Turkish Parliament House. The Chamber has accepted the offer.
