TURF NOTES.
(By "Zetland.") Some good work was done at Trentham yesterday morning, on a damp track. The principal gallops • were done in fast limes, and the irnjority of those responsible for the bed.t. >vnrk should run very prominently di.iing the meeting. Sharpshooter hat (juinaforte over six furlongs in 1 min 16 3-ssecs, and Lady Medallist got over a mile in lmin 46secs. Ringdove was slightly better than Roosevelt over six furlongs in lmin lgsees. Kopu, Osiris and Polyanthus were associated in a mile go, which took lmin 48secs, the fir?t named going the best.Crucinella and Bolton galloped a mile in min 16-sec, and finished together, while Tumut beat Sunbonnet oVer five furlongs in lmin ssec. Equitas skipped over a similar distance in lmin 2sec. Multiple was going better than Vi in a half mile flutter run in 50 3-ssecs,and Kilindini ran five furlongs in lmin 3secs. Downfall beat Muskerry over a mile in Imm 461secs. Bobrikoff and Chanteuse ran a mile, and were joined at the five furlongs post by Ambala. The latter finished in front, and the other pair wera timed to run the mile in lmin 43 2-ssec, a really good gallop, considering the state of tha track. Good working exercise was allotted Husbandman, Taskmaster, Full Sail, Armlet, Perula, Boanerges, All Red, Diabolo, Gold Lace, Killaloe, Tribulation, Truganini, Woodhey, Golden Water, Hilarian, Simplex, Sir Tristram, Toanga, Chauvelin, Ukraine, Bally Shannon, Wimmera and Separator. Nominations for the Ashhurst Guineas, 1911, six furlongs, to ba run at the Ashhurst-Fohangina Rao ing Club's annual meeting in December, 1911, will close with the .secretary, Mr A. W.
