METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph —Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 21. The following in Rev. D. C. Bates, sum/nary arid forecast: —■ Heavy showers have fallen ia many parts, and though improvirg, cloudy atid misty weather has prevailed. There has been Utile movement of the barometer in (he North, but a steady ritse has taken place south of New Plymouth and Naper. Moderate southerly winds have prevailed. The present indications stilt favour a temporary rise in the barometer with a moderate southerly winds changing by west to northerly after 24 hours. Cloudy and unsettled weather is probable generally, and foggy at times arounJ the cjarfts.
Mr J. C. Uoddington reports that the rainfall registered at the Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Friday was 78 points.
