MANAWATU RIFLE MEETING.

By Telegraph—Press Association. FALMERSTON N., January 21. The Manawatu Rifle Association's meeting commenced to-day in showery weather. The principal scorers in the various matches are as follow : . Linton match, 200 and 500 yards; seven shots at each range—Whiting, Whareroa, 68; Lewer, Levin, 67; Baker, Wellington City Rifles, 66; Maisey, Karori, 66; Belk, Feilding, 66; Soler, Wanganu'. 63; Head, Marten, 65; Hay, Karori, 65. The Manawatu Match was won by R. J. King, Opaki, with 68, Corporal Kells, Palmerston North, being second. Sergeant Law, of Dannevirke, and Lieut. Nielson, each take £2, and Rifleman Lever, Levin, Stubbins, Levin, McCalmont, and G. Hyde, Opaki, each won £l. In the Benefit Match at 600 yards, Corporal Kells, Palmerston North, topped the list with 34, winning £1 10s. King, Opaki, won £1 Is, and Bairstow, Nelsun, and Ballinger, Petone, came next, winning 15s each. King, Opaki, tops the list for the Ferguson Aggregate with 199, winning 30s. Corporal Kells, Palmerston North, made 197, Sergeant Law, Dannevirke, 195, and Rifleman H. Marshall, Karori, 193. Corporal Kells, Paimerston North Rifles, leads King, Opaki, for the giand aggregate by 2 points, 193 to 191. Fifteen teams of five men will compete in the Teams Match for the Greer Shield.
