Brigands attacked the Convent of liocairente, in the province of Valencia, Spain, for the purpose of de- j spoiling the historic church. The nuns barricaded the windows and doors, and armed themselves with pistols and cuns, until a guard rescued them. Five of the brigands were killed or wounded, and three of the nuns were | injured. I
