LANGDALE SPORTS.
The Langdale Athletic Club h. J ' their annual sports meeting at Lanr - dale on Thurday. There was a record attendance of the public, visitors being present from Mastert-i" and from all parts of the coast The prize money this year was greatly increased. For the Hunters' Competition a handsome 15-guniea cup is the first prize, with £5 added. The medal for the most point in toot events was won by Mr R. McKenzie, of Masterton. The secretary, Mr D. Munro, had all arrangements well in hand, and was ably assisted by Messrs R. and H. Morrison, who were untiring in their efforts to make f,he sports a general success. The handicappers, Messrs Mason and D. Bennett, gave every satisfaction, and some exciting
finishes were witnessed during the day. The following are the results: — FOOT EVENTS. - 150 Yards Hurdles—S. Bunny 1, C. Ellis 2, R. McKenzie 8. 100 Yards Maiden—F. Kilminster 1, E. Miller 2, J. McLeay 2, G. Forman 3. 440 Yards—C. Tavlor 1, F. Ball 2, F. Kilminister3. Hop, Step and Jump—R. McKenzie 1, McLeay 2, Schofield 3. Boys' Race, 200 'iards—R. McLeay 1, C. Hill 2, Forman 3. One Mile—F. Kilminster 1, Schofield 2, G. C. Fletcher 3. Consolation Race, 100 Yards—C. Ellis 1. E. Miller 2, J. Carmine 3. High Jump—R. McKenzie, scr, and Schofield, 4in, dead heat, 1. HORSE EVENTS.
