STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Eketahuna stock sale held-yesterday as follows:—The sale was conducted in the new yards recently erected which appeared to give general satisfaction to the public, the three firms operating at the same time, the overplus of sheep being accommodated in the Loan' Company's yards.' The attendance was very large, and business at auction fairly animated although sheep were somewhat easier in sympathy with the larger centres. We submitted a very good entry, and with the exception of one lot sold everything under the hammer. Some good lines of cattle were yarded, for which the competition was even better than for sheep, the bulk uf the entry selling at auction at full market rates. A line of 80 2£yr old steers in good order, but with a number of bad coloured cattle making £3 14s 6d. We quote-—Forward 4-tooth wethers, lis; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 10s; 2tooth wethers 9s 3d to 10s 3d; rape lambs, woolly, 6s lid to 7s Id; cull lambs, 4s 6d; aged, ewes in low condition, 3s 6d; old steers, £3 14s 6d; 13 months steers, good, £3 9s; 18 months heifers, £2 13s to £3 Is; mother reared weaners, 265; bucket fed weaners, 245; heifers and calves, £2 14s 6d; aged cows, stores, 38s- store pigs, 15s to 17s Messrs Dalgety and Co. report a very successful sale at Eketahuna yesterday. There was a good yarding, considerably exceeding the entries. Buyers operated very freely. The attendnace was large. The whole yarding was cleared at satisfactory prices to. vendors. Owing to the threat9nded strike of butchers in Wellington sheep were hard to quit. We quote:—2-tooth wethers, 6s 9d, 7s'6d to 8s 3d; mixed two-tooths, to 10s; woolly lambs, 6s 9d to 7s Id; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 8s 7d to 9s Id; 2-tooth ewes, 8s 3d to 10s Id. Cattle. —Empty heifers, £3 to £3 10s; springing cows, to £4 10s; 2yr ateers, £3 10s to £3 15s; 15 months mixed, £2 14s 6d; empty cows, £2 15s to £3 6s; 2J to 3yr steers, £ss to £5.
