SUPPLYING A WANT.

It is gratifying to note that the Thompson and Payne Pictures are meeting with well-deserved patronage in this town. Again and again we have heard the opinion expressed of Masterton's wants was evening recreation of a pleasant arid healthy character at a reasonable coat. Visiting theatrical companies, and other forms of entertainment that travel, ar j very welcome, but their visits are somewhat few and far between. Masterton has, we believe, the reputation of bsing "a good show town," for its size, a fact that indicates that there are many in the town and district who are fond of public evening entertainment. Before the days of Prohibition it was said hat the hotels were the only "amusement" there was, and when they were voted away, we were informed that the town would be dull in consequence.. A permanently established place of entertainment such as that of Messrs Thompson and Payne does a good deal in the way of making the town brighter. Ihe entertainment is one that appeals to every class in the community, and to persons of all ages, while its educative value is not inconsiderable. Messrs Thompson and Payne are displaying a degree of enterprise in a direction that may well be supported by the public.
