(From Our Own Correspondent.) j Tuesday. Mr Zabel has a fine oat crop at Belvedere, which is expected to yield 60 to 70 busbel to the acre. The straw is over six feet high. Totara Lodge, U.A.0.D., met last evening, Brb. P. Ashton, A.D., presiding. Three members were declared upon the fund, and one off. The Friendly Societie's Council wrote advising that the sum of £5 had been granted to the member in distress, and the Lodge resolved to supplement the amount by £2 '2s. One friend was proposed for membership. Receipts for the meeting were £2l 7s lOd, and disbursements £sl 0s Bd. Mr L. V. Fairbrother, of Carter- ; ton, is at present on a'holiday visit to the South Island. A meeting of the Ahiaruhe Sports Club is to be held at Ponatahi on Friday evening.
