POLICEMAN KILLED IN PARIS.

The police arrested an "Apache" (a hooligan) who was wearing leather bands studded with sharp spikes and razors. , The Apache used a long knife and a revolver, killing a policeman and injuring five others so severely that they had to De taken to the hospital. Received January 1,2 12,40 a.m. PARIS, January 11. The "apache' murder has directed attention to the 11,000 men in the French army, who have undergone sentences prior to enlistment. The newspapers denounce the system whereby criminals contaminate the barracks, and demand the hooligans be relegated to the African corps.
