METEROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 10. The following is the Rev. D.C. Bates' summary and forecast: —High pressure has prevailed, but the barometer has fallen slowly during the past 48 hours. Light easterly winds and cloudy and showery weather have prevailed in the North; elsewhere the winds have been light and variable with changeable .weather and showers in many parts, particularly Taranaki. The present indications are for warm and hazy weather generally. Rain is probable on the West Coast and southern districts of the South Island, and about the East Cape, freshening northerly winds are probable, and a falling barometer everywhere.
