N*iW WORKING AGREEMENT
By Telegraph—Press Association. GREYMOUTH, January 7. It is understood that the few outstanding points in dispute in connection with the new working agreement for the State mine have been satisfactorily overcome, and that the agreement is now ready for signature by the parties concerned. The New Zealand Miners' Federation has, according to a statement made to a "Star'' representative by Mr R. Semple (president), made a levy of,one shilling on all miners within its jurisdiction. The'amount collected therefrom is to be voted to the Newcastle strikers. In addition, the federation is appealing to all miners outside of its ranks to support the strikers. As already mentioned, the State Mines Union has struck a five'per cent, levy in support of the Newcastle strikers. Mr A. M* Williams, who is travel'hi 1 .? New Zealand in support of those strikers, will arrive in Greymouth about the 35th iDst.
