Special to the Age. PALMERSTON N., January 6. Messrs Abraham- and Williams, Ltd., Palmerston North, report:— To day we opened the first sale of the New Year with a .small yarding of sheep and a very lair yarding of cattle. Sheep seemed to be rather dull of sale, but we managed to quit the whole of our entry with the exception of one small pen of aged ewes. We quote:—Fat ewes 9s. 9s 2d to 10s lOd; fat wethers, lis; fat lambs, 9s. Cattle met with a ready sale, and we effected a total clearance. We quoteagedjbullocks, £6 8s; steers, £4j)s to £4 16s fid 20 months heifers, incalf, £3 4s „6d; fat and forward empty heifers, £3 10s; light fat bullocks, £6 ss; aged eov/B, 258, 355, 39s 6d to £2 10s; springing cows, £5 Ss; bulls, 35s to £4 Is.
