METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 6. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:— Light and variable winds have prevailed, tout strong westerly winds have been experienced in Foveaux Strait. The weather has been fair, and the barometer steady and high. The present indications are for cided change shortly, and a storm area is now aparently developing in the North, and an easterly gale with heavy rain is probable north of East Cape and Kawhia, extending its influence gradually further south, with strong south-easterly winds and heavy seas on the East f Coast, especially of the North Island. A westerly area of low pressure will also probably follow in the South, with very unsettled weather. The barometer is falling everywhere.
