PERSONAL.
Mr E. G. Woolcott, formerly of Masterton, father of Mr L. C. Woolcott, formerly on the literary staff of the "Evening Post," and now on the '-Sydney Daily Telegraph" staff, died suddenly at Pittwater Road, Manly, on Wednesday. The death occurred yesterday of Mr Andrew Young, who has been a resident of Greytown for over forty years. He was probably the first tailor to settle in the Wairarapa, and carried on his business until he became invalided. The death occurred at the Master- 1 ton Hospital, yesterday afternoon, of Mr Percy Lee, of the well-known firm of Messrs Lee and Boxhall, butchers, of this town, after a painful illness of some weeks' duration. The deceased, who was only thirty years of age, was held in high esteem by all who Ipew him. He was of an exceedingly bright and genial disposition, and these qualities won for him a very wide circle of firm friends, both socially and in business. His parents were among the early settlers of the Wairarapa, frum which district they left for Vancouver some seventeen years ago, where the father'still resides. A wife, four brothers and a sister are left to n>-"m his death, to whom the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended in their sad bereavement. Three of the brothers are living in America, and one, Mr Thomas Lee, is a resident of Masterton, while the sister, Mrs U. Wratten, resides in Auckland. The funeral will leave the residence. Bannister street, for the Masterton Cemetery, [ at 2 o'clock, this afternoon.
