A PLEASANT SURPRISE.
By Telegrapb—Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 5. A number of Auckland merchants received a pleasant surprise by way of a New Year's gift from Mr A. B. Donald, principal in the firm of Donald and Edenborough, shipchandlera. Some years ago during a period of financial stress the firm made a compromise with its creditors. Mr Donald now informs those creditors who accepted the compromise thai they will receive a full settlement of the. balance, and he sends out several thousands of pounds for that purpose.
