THE THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.
The new programme at the Foresters' Hal! last evening drew another ]arge audience despite counter attractions. The films we're projected in the usual high-class manner. The new series is a veritable "surprise packet," and should meet with large patronage. The industrial subjects have become quite a feature in Messrs Thompson and Payne's exhibitions, and are greatly appreciated. Among the films shown in this class in this series are "Grasse," the city of flowers, where a large percentage of the world's perfumes are manufactured. "Limemaking in Germany" is a good'film, depicting the whole of the lime making process. "Cable making in tfowrah, India," gives a clear idea of the making of the huge cables used on the large seagoing vessels. The i' dramatic subjects are well up to standard, the most notable perhaps being "Conshita," a very powerful Spanish drama of love and hate so string in Spain, being vividly portrayed. In this picture patrons are shown a real bull-fight. "A Royal Marriage in India" is a highly art coloured film, and the gorgeous Indian pageant and the fine costumes make a beautiful picture. As usual the comic element is well supplied, and the risabiliti. s of the audience were kept up by "Training a Ma-in-Law," "Plundering the Police," and by a "regular screamer" entitled "The. Flood."
