ALLEGED ARSON.
By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, January 3. Ten minutes after midnight on New Year's Day a constable was sent for to the house of Mrs Emily Ogier, at Linwood, who said that her husband was drunk, and was setting the place on fire. When the constable arrived the place was in flames. It belonged to J. S. Barratt, and was insured for £l5O and valued at £3OO. Ogier admitted putting kerosene on the kitchen fire, but denied incendiarism. His wife gave a different version, and to-day Ogier was arrested for arson.
