Those wi.o \ver j iortunate enough to secure a'iir.is?inn were treated to a real firot-cldss <x-h'-bitiori gof modern cinematography Tha series is a varied one, and is of an educative, as well as amusing natur3. Lovers of the "Sports of Kings" are catered for by a film depicting the "Melbourne Cup, 1909." A picture that is of extreme interest at present is "The Aviations Tests at Champagne." In this picture patrons are shown all classes of flying machines competing for large, prizes. All the leading men among the flyers strive to win the coveted Grand Prix. There are to be seen Latham, Bleriot, Farman, Lebefeaure, and others. The dramatic subjects are a specially fine collection,Jand met with general approval. 1 In this series, perhaps the best is "Saved by Love.'' The plot is on rather novel lines. The young lady who hadt to secure a husband before she could receive her fortune had an ardous time, and when she: finally secured a likely man lost no time in getting married. She makes a stipulation that her husband shall go away and be prepared to return at any time to have the marriage annualled. He leaves for the mines and striking it rich returns. He is welcomed into society, and meets his wife under an assumed name, and she fails to recognise him. He strives I to win her love without divulging his identity, and she sendswworkd k to her solicitor to send for her husband to annul her marriage. There is a dramatic denoument in the solicitor's office, and everything ends well. There are several other films which space will not permit reviewing. The comic subjects are of an extremely humorous lot. The management wish to express their regret at not being able to accommodate all, but those holding tickets bought on Saturday night will be able to use them tonight.
