Opportunity was taken at the annual picnic of the Methodist Sunday School on Saturday last, to perform/ 1 a very pleasing function. The Rev. C. E. Porter, in presentnig Mr R.; Mclver, secretary of the school, witb f a handsome solid silver inkstand, reftried in eulogistic terms to manner in which the recipient had carried . out his duties in the school, and to his untiring efforts in makng the fchool the success it was. Mr C. E. 1 laniell and Mr J. Heyhoe also spoke i;i high praise of Mr Mclver's interest in the school. Mrs Mclver, was also presented with a silver-mount-ed biscuit barrel. Mr Mclver suitably responded on behalf of himself and his wife.
