He could not see his way to reduce the fine, but would allow a month in which to pay. WELLINGTON. December 30. Mr James McWilliams, vice-presi-dent of the New South Wales Colliery Employees Federation, addressed a meeting to-night under the auspices of the Trades and Labour Council. There was not a large attendance. Ater setting out the case from the miners' point of view, Mr McWilliams appealed for funds to help to carry on the struggle. The chairman, Mr D. McLaren. M.P., said an appeal for funds would be made throughout the Dominion by Mr Manning, secretary of the New Zealand Miners' Federation, at the same time the Wellington Trades and Labour Council intended to take hdppendent action in this connection.
