RECOMMENDATIONS OF CONFERENCE. NEW ZEALAND'S LIABILITY. Received Decamber 30, 10 20 a.m. MELBOURNE, December 30. The Wireless Telegraphy Conference report has been published. It recommends th-5 establishment of high-power stations at Sydney, Doubtless Bay, and Suva; mediumpower stations at the Solomons, New Hebrides, and Ocean Island (Gilbert Archipelago). It is proposed that the Commonwealth and New Zealand should bear the expenses <if their own installations, the cost of other stations to be borne by the Imperial and Commonwealth Governments, New Zealand contributing one-sixth towards the cost of the Suva station. The Pacific Radio-Telegraphy Company's proposal should not, the report says, be adopted. The system should be under State control. It is estimated that the Pacific cable will receive £1,125 annualy through the wireless feeders.
