WORKMENS' FRIEND BUILDING SOCIETY.
The following is the annual report cf the above Society:— Considering the depression that has prevailed in the district, your Society >• as been maintained in a sound and progressive condition. During the year the proposed amalgamation of the two Masterton Terminating Building Societies was discussed at a conference of the two Boards of Directors. Terms were submitted by your Directors. Tnese were declined, end the negotiations have terminated. Now that it has been decided to work on an independent basis, your Directors appeal to you to co-operate in building up th% Society into a strong and useful institution. The power of the individual may be small, but tne results of co operation are great. Your Directors anticipate a large influx of new members during the coming year. The retiring Directors are Messrs Lewis, McEwen, i»igg and Winzenb-re, who. being eligible, have given due notice of their intention to offer themselves for re-elec-tion as Directors. —W. H.
