A DEPOSED INSURANCE COMPANY DIRECTOR. Received December 29, 9 a.m. NEW YORK, December 2«. G. P. Sheldon, the deposed president of the Phoenix Insurance Company, died from ptomaine poisoning. For twenty years Mr Sheldon was president of the Phoenix Insurance Company. Recently the companv decided to write off jBzOO.OOft, which, it was alleged, Sheldon had illegally used for his own speculations. Then Sheldon was indicted for appropriating a pillion dollars, hut was not arrested because he was critically ill
