TENUI NEWS.

From Our Own Correspondent. I TENUI, December 28. Quite a gloom was cast over the district on Christmas Day, when the news spread that Mrs W. Dickens, uf Riverside, had passed away. The deceased had only been ill a week with influenza, but last Friday her illness took a more serious turn, and ended fatally. The late Mrs Dickens was one of the most respected settlers in the district, and one of those sterling women whom the Dominion can ill afford to lose. With hard work and careful management, Mr and Mrs Dickens had just reached the goal of comfort and a little leisure, the deceased lady was of kind-hearted disposition, and will long be remembered for her warm hospitality. A husband and a large family are left to mourn their loss.
