HOLIDAY ATTRACTIONS.
There are a number of attractions ; in the Wairarapa and surrounding •districts (mmi the Christmas holi■days. One of the pincipal attractions twill be the summer meeting of the THanawatu Kacing Club, which will be held at Awapuni on December 23rd, 27th and 2«th. Excellent acceptances hivebeep received for the meeting, and given fine*- weather a ;record meeting should result. On December 27th the Mangatainoka sports •should attract a 'large number of tpatrons, as the Club wre sparing no •efforts to ensure: an enjoyable- outing for visitors. There should be keen competition at the Maryborough 'Caledonian Society's sports on Monday next judging % the number and of the entries. This Club, too, 'is making a special effort to cater to 'the public. Other attractions on Mondaynext are the Friendly Societies' sports at Pigeon Bush, and the XM.C.A. picnic. On Wednesday •next the Ashhurst Racing Club will hold their annual meeting, for which splendid acceptances have, been.received, including some of the beat ifaorses in the Dominion. Special trains will run that day to suit Mastterton patrons. The East Coast sports twill atlso be held on that day.
