A BRITISH NAVY.
TENDER FOR A DREADNOUGHT ACCEPTED. Received December 21, 8.30 a.m. LONDON, December 20. The Admiralty accepted the Thames Ironworks' tender for a Dreadnought. The company was asked to provide £BO,OOO as a guarantee that it would complete the work by 1912, but this the directors were unwilling to give.
