MR ASQUITH AND HOME RULE.
HOW THE NATIONALISTS RECEIVED THE STATEMENT. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received December 13, 10.30 p.m. LONDON, December 13. Mr Winston Churchill, speaking at Oldham, said Mr Asquith's statement that no Liberal Government would assume office under the conditions at present prevailing, is binding upon every official and unofficial Liberal. "If you support is," said Mr Churchill, "the consequences of that statement cannot fail to emerge in action immediately after the elections are concluded." The Dublin correspondent Jof "The Times" reports that jjMr Asquith's pronouncement in regard to Home Rule has provoked no marked enthusiasm among thejNationalists. The Party this week will decide to what extent Mr Asquith's statement fulfils Mr Redmond's condition, and whether a further guarantee is necessary.
Received December 13,£11.35 p.m. LONDON, December 13. Cokmel Seely, Liberal M.P., speaking at Livorton, discussing details of their formation and election, argued that there was a great difference between the second Chambers of New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and the Lords.
