PERSONAL.
Mr J. G. Gilberd has resigned from the Napier Fire' Brigade, after 33 years' service. He was one of the original members and organisers of atd for many years ita superintendent. Mr H. W. Northcroft, S.M., of the Manukau Circuit, retires at the end of this year. At the quarterly meeting of the Manukau Licensing Bench the committee took occasion to suitably recognise the worth of their chairman, and further recognition of his service was made at the Courthouse, Onehunga, yesterday. A movement is afoot t>i present a testimonial to Mr< Prank Lawry,i M.P., in recognition of his services l to the Parnell electorate during his 21 yearß in Parliament. At a meeting of those interested in the proposal, held at Newmarket, |t was decided that the presentation should be a non-parly one. I
