A meeting of the Pahiatua Racing Club will be held in the Commercial Hotel on Tuesday evening, at o'clock. The glorious spell of fine weather has had a tendency to decrease some of the milk supplied at the various factories, especially the suppliers from the hilly country. The country at Pongaroa and adjoining districts is looking remarkably well just at present, and the roads are reported to be in splendid order. The recent rise in the wool market has gladdened many farmers' hearts in the backblocks ana the season should prove a very successful one. On the 10th inst. the Rexdale cheese factory at Mangamaire paid out'to suppliers about £7OO for milk supplied during November. The two largest individual cheques were those paid to Mr J. G. Brechin, £IOO, and Mr H. Daysh, £46 13s. The two vats of 850 gallons capacity are now full daily. The following are the ten highest in the dairy cow competition, in connection with the Pahiatua-Akitio A. and P. Association:
STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report on their Pongaroa sale on Friday, 10th inst., as follows:—-We submitted a fair yarding of cattle, and the bidding was brisk throughout, resulting in a total clearance at satisfactory prices, and the weather being gloriously fine there was a good attendance of farmers. We quote:— Weaners (mixed) 30s; 15 month heifers, 46s to 475; yearling steers, 45s to 50s; 2 year steers, 79s to 80s; 4 year steers, 105s; 3 year steers, 95a; bulla, £2 17s 6d; dairy cows, £3; cows and calves, £3 3s horse, hack, £7 sa. We also held a very successful clearing sale on Thursday last, on account of Mr F. Shadbolt at his farm, Pongaroa, when dairy cows realised from £3 to £7 3s; store cows £2 14s late springing heifers, £2 14s6d; yearling lisifers. £2 2s; yearling to 15 months steers, £2 3s;
calves, 35s 6d. Furniture and household effects brought satisfactory prices. Messrs P. E. Debreceny and Co. report having held a very successful sale at the Mart this afternoon. The first consignment of fruit came forward, cherries bringing from 5s 6d to 6s 6d psr case. Regular consignments of fruit will now be offered.
