STATEMENT BY ESKIMOS

Received December 9, 11 a.m. BERLIN, December 8. Berlin newspapers, suggesting that possibly it refers to the missing Arctic explorer Andree, published a story, on the authority of a missionary, who heard it from the Eskimos in the Farthest North, that one day the natives were astonished to see "a white house in the akv.'' They described how it contained two men, who were half-starved, and who after being partly restored, soon died. The m issionary saw several ropes among the li.skimos.
