BILLIARDS.
An exhibition game of billiards of 750 up, between Master G orge Gray and Mr Fred Lindrum, in which the conceded his oppon2nt 5Q points, was played in Mr F. Langstone's billiard room in the Club Cafe last evening. Both plajers displayed remarkable skill, but are quite distinct in their manner of play. Gray's skill lies chiefly in tbe losing hazard, and piled up his scores last evening with successions of "threes." When necessity demanded it, however, tha lad clearly indicated that he is capable of a'.tractive all round billiards, and at various stages of the play built up a good score from what at the commencement of the break seemed a veiy difficult position. His best breaks during the evening were: 25, 49, 54, 27, 161, 74, 192, 21. With the first shot in the 192 break he lost the white and completed with losing hazards. Lindrum is a finished player, whose confident treatment of the balld is good to witness He has an easy tyk\ is a rapid player, and no shot known to billiard science seems to come amiss to him. His best breaks included 16, L'2, 7?, 26, 105, 47, 111, the final result being-.—Gray. 750; Lindrum, 506. At the conclusion of the match the 'players then g'lve an exhibition of trick and fancy shots. Gray gave a pleasing exhibition of the masse shot, whilst Lindrum included in his display a clever all round cannon with all the balls in motion.,
