METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 8. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast: Rain has fallen in Taranaki and about the East Coagt, and elsewhere the weather has been remarkably warm and fine. The barometer has risen steadily in the South, but fallen slowly in the Far North. Northerly and westerly winds have prevailed. The present conditions are very unstable, and especially in the North, for low pressure exists everywhere to the westward, and although there are but few positive indications of a change in the immediate future yet such is probable shortly. Freshening northerly winds are expected in the Far North, and westerly prevailing elsewhere.
