SECONDARY EDUCATION.

A return was laid before the House on Monday last, showing the amount of capitation paid to each secondary school in the Dominion during the year ending March 31st last. It shows that the total amount of capitation paid during the twelve months was £24,372 Is Bd. Of this, the share of Wellington Colleee was £1,927 Is Bd, Which was at the rate "f £9 5s per scholar per annum. The Palmerston High School received £1,268 10s, which was at the rate of £lO 15s per scholar. Napier High School receiv ed £920 and Dannevirke High School £684 8s 4d.
